What is Ownerd ransomware?
Ownerd encrypts all file data using a combination of strong algorithms, making them inaccessible. The infected files are appended with the attacker’s email address and extension. For example, a file named “photo.jpg” will be renamed to “photo.jpg.[ownerde@cyberfear.com].ownerd”, and “sales.xlsx” will be renamed to “sales.xlsx.[ownerde@cyberfear.com].ownerd”. Once this attack process is complete, a ransom note titled “#Read-for-recovery.txt” is created in all directories containing files.
